La RUE
This could be one of the most fashionable streets in the world. Here one finds the stores of Hermès, Lanvin, Chanel, Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent and so on. It´s a true joy just to wander around and watch the beautiful crowd.

French delicacies
While in Paris I wouldn´t miss the opportunity to pay a visit to Ladurée to buy some Christmas presents. Jewellike macaroons in soft pastels, delicious chocolates, teas and marmalades all in beautiful packaging.

Well groomed
These are my two favorites for achieving well groomed brows. The tweezers from Tweezerman, which I found in a small pharmacy when visiting Montréal, really do the job in an excellent way. The Mac eyebrow pencil is slim, self-propelling and self-sharpening, which is very convenient when you are in a hurry most of the mornings. My favorite color is Lingering, a soft, flattering taupe .

Inspiration
For me inspiration is everywhere. I can find it in beautiful coffee table books, in glossy fashion magazines, while readíng or viewing television and movies. Although my greatest source of inspiration is the men and women who have that special sense of style that truly enhances their personality.

Gingerbread cheesecake
Every year we invite family and friends for a small pre-Christmas party. This year our guests were treated with mulled wine, saffron bread and a delicious gingerbred cheesecake.

A beautiful Christmas home
I love the pictures from this elegant Stockholm home found in Sköna hem´s 2010 December issue. The dark wooden furniture against the light background and the mixture of beautiful old pieces and modern details really create a lovely Christmas home.

Filofax update
Today I`ve updated my old Filofax with a 2012 refill. Though it´s been a true companion during the past 15 years I must admit I´m a little bit tempted replacing it with one of these beautiful LV one´s.

The smell of Christmas
There are certain smells that evoke wonderful memories of Christmases past. Gingerbread cookies, newly peeled oranges, minty candy canes and pine to mention a few of my own favorites. To light a few fragrant and also beautiful scented candles is a wonderful way to further enhance the Christmas spirit.
Clockwise from top left: Diptyque Pomander, Cire Trudon Nazareth, Czech and Speake Frankincense and Myrrh, Laura Mercier Warm roasted chestnuts, Annick Goutal Nöel and Aqua di Parma Spicy.

Business in Oslo
I´ve been working a couple of days in Oslo. Late one afternoon I found some time to take a walk to do some sightseeing. One of the evenings I had the pleasure to eat at this lovely restarurant and the other evening at this cosy place. The shopping had to wait though, as this is a quite expensive city for shopping at the moment.

Lady Godiva
I believe one has to choose one´s sins - I choose chocolate..
The legend of Lady Godiva:
Lady Godiva was married to Leofric, the 'grim' Earl of Mercer and Lord of Coventry, a man of great power and importance. Lady Godiva pleaded with her husband to relieve the heavy burden of taxes he had imposed on the citizens of Coventry. Weary of her persistence, Leofric said he would grant her request if she would ride naked through the town. It is said that so great was her compassion for the people of Coventry that Godiva overcame her horror of doing this. She ordered the people to remain indoors with their windows and doors barred. Loosening her long hair to cover her as a cloak, she mounted her waiting horse. Then she rode through the silent streets unseen by the people, who had obeyed her command because of their respect for her. Only one man, called Tom, was unable to resist the temptation to peep at the Countess (hence the term 'Peeping Tom'). He unbarred his window, but before he could satisfy his gaze he was struck blind. Her ordeal completed, Godiva returned to her husband, who fulfilled his promise to abolish the heavy taxes.

Classics
When it comes to clothes I´ve always had a soft spot for classic, timeless pieces. I´m fascinated by Style - the looks that never seem to get dated. Just take a look at these beautiful ladies and you´ll see what I mean.
